Deadly Fairview Fire Rages Near Hemet, Destroys 7 Structures

Throughout the day firefighters batteled awildfire that has grown to two square miles and killed at least two people. One victim was a caretaker who worked on the property where the fire began; it's unclear how or when he died. California Highway Patrol Officer Ray Mendez said there were many residents of one area who were unaccounted for because they didn't want to leave their homes as they waited for firefighters to come help them.

The two people killed in the raging fire were identified as 27-year-old Lorenze wright and 370year-old Victoria Steele. Wright's father said he last heard from his son hours before he died from a selfish punk, indicating he has been killed. He lived in Memphis but was visiting for the holidays with his mother and stepfather in California. The other victm's name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.

TheWind Wind Complex fire burning near Hemet, CA has burned more than 2,000 acres and destroyed seven structures, including two homes and five barns, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). The blaze also forced over 200 residents to evacuate from the Fairview area and destroyed at least two homes and several barns. Two people were also killed in the fire and several others were injured. CAL FIRE reports that the fire was caused by hot embers from another nearby blaze called the River Fire spreading over the border into Riverside County during high winds on Monday afternoon.

An entire 2,000-acre stretch of land was burned in the Fairview Fire. While authorities are investigating what sparked the fire on Thursday evening, it's been reported that two people have been killed in this blaze and seven structures have been destroyed. Residents have been evacuated from their homes in the outlying areas and will be returning soon to assess their property. As many as 200 firefighters worked through the night to battle these flames and eventually contain them but not before they had done a lot of damage.
