From Austin: Up-to-the-Minute Highlights and Score Updates from Alabama vs. Texas

 Alabama and Texas kicked off their season with a highly anticipated Week 2 matchup in Austin, Texas. It was the first time the two teams have met in football since Alabama defeated Texas 20-13 in the BCS Championship Game at the end of the 2009 season. The game between Alabama and Texas turned out to be everything that was expected, but with an unexpected ending. A thrilling second half has left fans of both teams on the edge of their seats as it currently sits at 25-25 with 3 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. First Quarter 

Texas scored first, but the Crimson Tide has yet to punt the ball or turn it over in a dominant first quarter of football in Austin. There was a missed field goal, too! Texas only has 8 points while the Tide has 16! The teams are now back at it on the field for another 15 minutes of football. Noelle Cucurullo contributed to this post 

Second Quarter

Alabama scored with three minutes remaining in the first half with a 52-yard field goal by Adam Griffith. It came after the team was unable to find an offensive rhythm before taking possession at their own 20 yard line, down 17 points to 7 

Third Quarter 

Alabama has been unable to break through the tight coverage of the Texan defense, while they've been able to force two turnovers in the red zone. Alabama leads, 13-10

Fourth Quarter

Alabama went into halftime up 21-0. They lost running back Damien Harris to a foot injury before the second half, but never let off the gas, racking up a total of 5 TDs in the 3rd quarter alone to take a 48-0 lead going into the 4th quarter. In what would be their easiest game of the season, coach Nick Saban let his backups see playing time with one eye on next week's match against LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
